Our Perfect Autumn Day
October 1st was the perfect autumn day here in North Devon. Once the rain lifted we took the chance to go walkies with the woofa!
Sometimes the best times as a family cost absolutely nothing but we have so many lovely memories from today, and Zac absolutely loved it and slept 12 hrs! You’ve got to love that fresh air!
Luckily we live a short stroll from our local town park, which runs alongside the River Taw. I would love to add the words’ gorgeous’ and ‘stunning ‘regarding the river, but instead, we sadly saw far too many supermarket trolleys and beer bottles that have been thrown in overnight! Insert sad face.
Nevertheless, it was really wonderful! So much so, a quick half hour stroll turned into 1 ½ hrs of leaf and conker hunting!
The colours were just spectacular and Zac had so much fun searching for the most colourful leaves, and shiniest conkers!
The woofa was a tad confused by why we were hunting underneath the trees for so long and I’m sure thought we were rabbit hunting for her. She was disappointed!
We came back and grabbed the matches to light our word burner to add that special autumn feel I love so much! A gorgeous wood burner, however a little hot for the area at times, so much so we have to open the doors and strip off a few layers!
I absolutely love this time of year, the colours are magical and being outdoors gives you a renewed sense of energy even when you feel tired or stressed. All your worries just drain away.
A perfect autumn day, for us, really is simple, a playful walk in the woods, with board games in front of the fire– what could be better?
